Financial services compromise agreement for a banker
We advised a banker in the financial services sector in relation to his compromise agreement following restructuring and redundancy moves made by his employer and a long running employment dispute. We negotiated, under threat of litigation, compensation for his lost bonus entitlement, the loss of his share options and long-term incentive plan (LTIP) and crucially the release of post-termination restrictive covenants in his employment contract which would have prevented him from joining a competitor and taking clients to the new employer. In the process, we obtained a substantial lump-sum settlement and enabled him to work for a rival employer.
