Advising on incentive pay and bonuses
We reviewed a complicated bonus (including Long Term Incentive Plan), share and pay plan for a director in financial services with total compnesation in excess of £500,000 and explained what his rights would be under the plan on termination of employment. Advice included guidance on how the bonus should be operated, limits on the employer’s use of discretion, and circumstances in which payments should be made on leaving. We dealt with the impact of garden leave and employment notice provisions under the employment contract.
