I aim to and enjoy delivering practical, commercially aware advice that is tailored to meet our client’s needs. Work at Gannons can be challenging; when acting for entrepreneurs and private businesses you need to have your wits about you as the commercial challenges are there but the legal budgets are limited. Our critical success factors are our ability to:
- Effectively listen to clients and work with them to identify all the commercial and legal issues;
- Be creative in our approach to dealing with these issues and in our solutions; and
- Be approachable, proactive, efficient and cost-conscious.
I advise on a variety of matters including but not limited to:
I review settlement agreements and if you ask me to I will make suggestions for improvement. I also draft settlement agreements for employers making sure they pick up all the clauses needed. I also work closely with employers reviewing and drafting their contracts of employment, director’s service agreements and bonus and commission plans.
I advise shareholders and directors on many aspects of commercial and corporate matters. I particularly focus on share and asset purchases and sales, shareholders’ agreements, tailored articles of association and commercial contracts with third parties.
I have spent 15 years within a commercial environment latterly heading up the marketing team for one of Europe’s largest private companies.
My first career has given me strong commercial awareness and a clear appreciation of the dynamics that exist within a business. This experience allows me to understand the needs of my clients and their businesses and in turn provide better quality legal and commercial advice.
Why I love my job
I love the variety of work that comes under the commercial corporate umbrella. I am passionate about working within our specialised, client focused environment, delivering bespoke solutions. It is genuinely rewarding to be part of a process enabling individuals and organisations realise their goals.
